Crafting a collaborative journey

Learn about our key artist and maker collaborators for On The Square

OntheSq from the start has been a conversation between the house and its makers. Each designer, artist, and craftsperson has brought their expertise and perspective, creating works that are deeply personal yet part of a larger vision. This is what makes OntheSq so special—it’s a home that tells many stories, all intertwined.

A collaborative journey

This Neo Jacobean masterpiece in De Beauvoir Town is more than a restored home; it’s a dynamic canvas where exceptional designers, artists, and craftspeople unite to bring its unique story to life. OntheSq thrives on co-creation, welcoming a community of visionaries to shape its transformation. Let us introduce some of the remarkable collaborators redefining this historic space:

Rio Kobayashi
A sculptural furniture designer renowned for his ability to blur the line between art and function. Rio’s pieces for OntheSq echo the house’s architectural language, incorporating bold forms and rich materials that spark a dialogue between past and present.

Michael Murphy (Muck)
A master craftsman and furniture maker whose work is grounded in traditional techniques. Michael’s handcrafted pieces for OntheSq celebrate the home’s period features while offering modern interpretations that enhance its character.

Tomoyo Tsurumi
A textile designer who weaves stories into every thread. Tomoyo’s works bring texture and warmth to OntheSq, responding to the house’s play of light and shadow with fabrics that are as intricate and close to the house as they are evocative.

As we approach the March 2025 opening, we look forward to unveiling and giving behind-the-scenes from these extraordinary collaborations. Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes glimpses and invitations to witness OntheSq’s transformation firsthand.
